Motorola becomes 3rd Biggest Mobile Company
Launching 50 new phones in 2008
Happy news finally for Motorola’s handset division and its large number of fans. Motorola managed to cling to its position as third largest supplier of mobile phones in the world.
Trouncing analysts' predictions of 26.1, Motorola shipped 28.1 million handsets in the second quarter of 2008. Motorola even managed to overtake L.G, which sold 27.7 million handsets.
On the other hand, Motorola is still the unequalled market leader in its own home market, the U.S. CEO Greg Brown claims that this year Motorola will introduce a total of 50 models compared to 40 in 2007.
After the resounding success of the Ming A1600 and Ming A1800, Motorola certainly has a promising Q4 with a few more touch screen mobiles that are gestating.
