Singh is Kinng Movie Review
Akshay Kumar and Anees Bazmee Jam
Akshay Kumar has been having a Midas touch since the past 12 months. His new movie Singh in Kinng released today amid much hype and speculation.
Singh is Kinng is directed by another Midas, Anees Bazmee who earlier directed the hugely successful No entry and Welcome. No entry arguably was the true reason behind the revival of Anil Kapoor 's flagging career. And Welcome went on to be the HIGHEST GROSSING BOLLYWWOD COMEDY of all time.
Singh is Kinng follows the much commonly adapted bollywood formula of being shot on foreign locales. About 75% of the movie was shot in Australia around the Gold Coast region and Brisbane using an Australian production team named Instinct India.
Lakhan Singh played by Sonu Sood is the "king" of the Australian underworld, accompanied by his associates (Javed Jaffrey,Neha Dhupia, Manoj Pahwa, Yashpal Sharma, Kamal Chopra and Sudhanshu Pande).
Happy Singh (Akshay Kumar, on fire)is a villager who is more notorious than Lucky.
The village in turn is fed to the back teeth of Happy's antics. He is sent to bring Lucky back to Punjab to right the despicable deeds that malign the community's image in down under.
Happy takes this mission a little too seriously and embarks on his journey accompanied by his friend Rangeela (Om Puri). As the onset to chaos ensues, he meets pretty Sonia (Katrina Kaif, indeed pretty) and falls head over heels in love with her.
Things get more berserk as Happy finds Lucky ... and Lucky tries to kill him... but Lucky gets paralyzed and Happy becomes the new 'King'.
The labyrinthine series of bedlam, pandemonium and misunderstandings promises a laugh out loud comedy of errors.
Rating: 3 stars out of 4.
